Former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson has been accused of rape in a new lawsuit filed by a woman New York this month.
The former world champion was previously convicted of the rape of beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington in 1992 where he served three years imprisonment.
The woman who is now seeking $5 million in damages has asked the court to remain anonymous in the lawsuit.
The alleged victim claimed the assault took place in a limousine in the early 1990s after she met Tyson at the Septembers club in Albany.
She added that the incident left her with ‘physical, psychological and emotional distress’.
The legal action in the upstate New York area was filed under the state’s recently-adopted Adult Survivors Act that offers sexual assault victims a one-year time space to file lawsuits that took place years or even decades ago.
Mike Tyson’s reps however are yet to make any public statements about these accusations.
