Tems bags first Golden Globe Nominations

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems has been named one of the nominees of the Golden Globe Awards in 2023.

The singer was nominated for her songwriting in the song “Lift Me Up”, a track from Marvels Entertainment’s recently released movie “Wakanda Forever”.

Tems was nominated for the award alongside Rihanna, Ludwig Göransson, and Ryan Coogler, who were all significant contributors to the song.

Tems co-wrote the song, which was performed by Rihanna and released on November 4. The record paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who played a lead role in the movie before he died in 2020 after a battle with colon cancer.

Reacting to the development, Tems retweeted expressing how overwhelmed she was at being nominated for the coveted award.

“My God!! this one is too much❤️,” she enthused.
