The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has said that his administration’s fight against one of the national problems, illegal mining widely known as galamsey is unprecedent.
He made this known to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia palace in Kumasi on day one of his four day tour of the Ashanti Region.
“No government has shown commitment to the fight against galamsey than my government,” he stressed.
This comes after several calls by stakeholders and other entities to government in tackling the galamsey menace.
The President is expected to visit the Boankra integrated logistics terminal, also known as the Boankra inland port, and inspect progress of work.
He also will inspect the agenda 111 project at Kokoben.
