Brighton defender, Tariq Lamptey switches nationality to Ghana

English Premier League side, Brighton and Hove Albion’s talented right back, Tariq Lamptey is eligible to play for the Black Stars!

Lamptey, 21, is currently in the country and is closer to switching his nationality from British to Ghanaian.

According to sports journalist, Saddick Adams, the energetic right back’s “nationality process has hastened beyond imagination”.

It is believed Tariq is currently in Accra to continue the switch and watch the Black Stars’ AFCON Qualifier against Madagascar in Cape Coast.

The right back has already represented England at the U18 and U21 levels and made his debut in 2020 starting in a 2-1 away victory against Austria.

His appearance will be a massive boost to Ghana’s defensive setup ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
