Queen Elizabeth’s husband, Prince Philip, Dies Aged 99

Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband, has died aged 99, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The Duke of Edingburgh died at the Windsor Castle just three weeks after he was discharged from a London Hospital. Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth tied knot in 1947, just five years before the latter ascended the throne in Britain.

In a statement released on Friday morning, Buckingham Palace says;

“It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty the Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.”

The statement continued;

“His Royal Highness passes away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. The royal family join with people around the world in mourning his loss.“
