The first-ever brain project beauty pageant, Miss Entrepreneur International has been launched in Accra, Ghana as one of the many steps to solve the crisis of African businesses.
The entrepreneurship-based beauty pageant aims at equipping and affording very enterprising females the platform to apply basic rules in their chosen fields of entrepreneurship.
It is a six (6)-week intensive brain project beauty pageant with mentorship programs, training, soft skills, among others.
Speaking at the launch which was held at the Earl Heights Suites Hotel in Dzorwulu on Saturday, the CEO & Founder of Aketesia Group, Miss Regina Adu Safowaah stated that there will be no auditions owing to the fact that each contestant is coming on board with a business venture; thus, individuals who are even running small businesses in their rooms are eligible.
“You can have a business online [or] something setup for yourself because entrepreneurship is the art of being able to have perceived opportunities around [and] create a job out of it. So whatever fantastic thing you are doing, come on board,” she reiterated.
Miss Safowaah noted that the winner takes home a GHS10,000 cash prize, attend home and other country seminars, brand ambassador for Miss Entrepreneur International, contract with partners and agencies of Miss Entrepreneur International, souvenirs, among other opportunities.
The keynote speaker Mr. Isaac Rockson acknowledged that “for entrepreneurship, you try to tap into all opportunities. The first is your exposure — once you are exposed to something, you have the opportunity.”
Mr. Rockson also mentioned that there will be no public voting but floor and external judges will assess contestants on their respective project(s) each week.
Persons between the ages of 18 to 30 years are eligible to participate in the contest and it is open to Ghanaians and foreign nationals.
