Xenophobic attacks: Tiwa Savage cancels concert in South Africa

Nigerian Afro-pop singer Tiwa Savage has canceled her forthcoming concert in Johannesburg, South Africa following the xenophobic attacks against foreigners in the country.

Tiwa was scheduled to perform at the DSTV Delicious Festival in South Africa on September 21, but because of the utterly shocking xenophobic killings by South Africans against Nigerians and other African countries, she has decided cancel her performance.

The 39-year-old made the announcement on Wednesday via her Instagram account.

“I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in South Africa. This is sick. For this reason, I will not be performing at the upcoming DSTV delicious festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September. My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this,” she said.
