The HACSA Summit 2019 started yesterday 5th August 2019, at the prestigious Kempinski Hotel and will end on 11th August 2019, with a full week of debate, learning, commemoration, celebration, networking and heritage tours.
The international summit held in Ghana witnessed discussions on Legacy, Communities and Innovation, 400 years since the beginning of the transatlantic slave trade.
HACSA Summit 2019 which was organized under the patronage of UNESCO is endorsed by Ghana’s National ‘Year of Return’, which symbolically marks the 400th anniversary since enslaved Africans arrived in the US and also invites the African Diaspora back home.
This event brouhgt together Heads of State, opinion leaders, practitioners, and participants from Africa and the diaspora to have open and meaningful debates about learning from the past for the future development of the continent. These include the Vice-President of Liberia, Jewel Cianeh Howard Taylor, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi and many more.
