One may term it as the biggest collaboration to hit the Ghanaian music industry in previous years, but it undoubtedly a fact that Shatta Wale’s feature on ‘Already’ by Beyonce has lifted the flag of Ghana higher.
It was announced last week that Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has been featured on a track in Beyonce’s new album, The Lion King; The Gift. This news became the talk of the town with many hailing the feat achieved by the leader of the SM Family. Fast forward, the album has been released with almost everybody has had the chance to listen to and critique the song.
Many people hailed the ‘Dancehall King’ from the perspective of the meaning of the collaboration to the future of Shatta Wale. However, the Rap Dacta in a post on Twitter diverted his criticism from there and took a deeper look at the content and production of the song. Okyeame Kwame described the song as ‘Perfect’ citing “the Azonto beat, the melodic pattern, the simplicity of the lyrics and the danceability of the song” as his reasons.
The ‘Woso’ hitmaker also congratulated Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr for his achievement but did forget to subtly throw a dig at the song stating that the only thing that was missing was Shatta’s signature tune, ‘Pah! Pah! Pah! Pah!
… Everything is perfect… but what I’m truly happy about is the way Ghanaians are pushing the song to the world. Congratulations @shattawalegh . The only thing conspicuously missing in that track is Pah! Pah! Pah! Pah! . We love you SHATTA. #MadeinGhana🇬🇭 #BandanaFromGhana🇬🇭 pic.twitter.com/cjczyok1vV
