Ghana U-23 national team forward Daniel Lomotey of West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) will arrive in South Africa next week and to undergo a two week trial with South Africa top flight side Cape Town City FC, managed by Ex-South African international footballer Benni McCarthy.
The young attacker has been on the radar of a few clubs both local and foreign who have been monitoring the player’s current situation, with Cape Town City looking to be the first to make an approach to further assess Lomotey for a few days with a deal to be finalized after showings of his abilities.
Daniel Lomotey, 19, who was part of the recent Ghana U-20 National team that failed to qualify for the 2019 U-20 World Cup, has had a quiet season at his club, with the club going on an underwhelming performance in the just ended NC Special Competition. But Lomotey, is looking to put that behind him and take up a new challenge with Cape Town City calling on him.
Cape Town City finished the Premier Soccer League (PSL) season on the top half of the table and would be playing in the CAF Competition next season, with the club looking to strengthen their fold with new players that will improve the team for the campaign next season, manager Benni McCarthy would be looking to add more quality lads in the squad.
