Here’s Why Cardi B Thought It Was Important To Reveal Her Liposuction Procedure With Fans

Have we ever known Cardi B to keep it less than 100 percent real at all times?

The Bronx rapper has had quite the busy past few weeks, from collecting another load ofBillboard Music Awards, to launching a second Fashion Nova collection, to tearing up the stage at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee over the weekend.

As we reported, the I Like It rapper confessed to the crowd on Sunday night that she recently got liposuction. But the entertainer claims her candid confessionals are about more than getting a laugh or reaction, it’s about educating her fans, too.

Speaking to ET on Wednesday night at the launch party for her new FN line, Bardi said she feels people don’t know how tough the recovery process is after getting such an invasive procedure. She explained:

“I want to explain to people how hard it is to process. I feel like people look at girls on Instagram and go, ‘Oh, they got their lipo done and it was so easy.’ It is just such a long, hard process, almost like the same process as after you give birth to a baby and you see your body change and snapping it back.”

Considering the fact the woman did have a baby, got her breast implants redone, AND liposuction all fairly recently, it’s safe to assume she knows what she’s talking about!

Multiple online web sources confirm that it does take about one to two weeks to recover from the cosmetic procedure used to remove unwanted body fat. It is said that for the first five days, patients are asked to wear a compression garment, rest, drink fluids, and not shower or bathe. They also have to move every two hours to prevent the formation of blood clots, and to keep fluids moving in the body and reduce swelling.

Welp, Cardi did all that movement and then some after going under the knife. During her set at the festival, she previously told concertgoers:

“I shouldn’t really be performing. I should’ve canceled today because moving too much is gonna f**k up my lipo. But b**ch, I’m still gonna get this mother f**king money back, let’s go!”

We’re glad our girl was able to keep it together, and still put on show! But also take this as our collective warning not to attempt the same feat. LOLz…

While speaking to the outlet, Kulture‘s momma also revealed that she’ll be working on her first Mother’s Day! She sadly admitted:

“I’m booked for Mother’s Day. I’m giving people a very hard time for booking me on Mother’s Day. I had just amazing plans for Mother’s Day. I wanted to wear something very lilac and match with my daughter, probably go to brunch with my husband [Offset] and my mom.”

She also offered some words of encouragement to pop star Britney Spears, who recently showed Cardi love by working out to her music on Instagram. Acknowledging Brit’s current mental state and how hard their famous lifestyle can be, she shared:

“I love you and I totally understand. Fame will really drive you insane…then you have, like, the whole world looking at you, no privacy, it’s crazy. I can’t imagine if you do it for such a long time.”

The outspoken star said she hopes to collaborate with Spears one day in the future, too.
