‘Kyenkyen Bi Adi Mewu’ Was Not Sampled – Rocky Dawuni Responds To Cabum’s Allegations

Legendary Ghanaian Afro-roots artiste, Rocky Dawuni has responded to claims by rapper and son of Late Ghanaian highlife musician, Alhaji K. Frimpong, Cabum stating the song was a remake but not a sample.

Speaking with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz 103.9fm Tuesday morning, the outraged Grammy nominee mentioned that a lot of people get confused by the terms ‘Sampling’ and ‘Remake’ which he believes is the reason for all this brouhaha and outrage by Cabum on social media. He stated that anyone can cover or do a remake of anyone’s song including Bob Marley but will not necessarily have to contact the original artiste.

Speaking further on the topic, Rocky revealed that there are structures in place that are supposed to care of any the party involved and the family if the original artiste is deceased in the case of Alhaji K. Frimpong and Cabum.
