Exclusive: OV Reveals What Prevented Her From Becoming A Soldier

Okailey Verse(OV) has revealed why she was bounced by the Ghana Military Service after her dad advised her to take up that profession instead of her dream.

Even though that was not her dream as she always wanted to go to the law school after SHS, her parents’ advise pushed her to try her luck. Speaking to Zionfelix on the Unplug show, Okailey Verse revealed that she was bounced after picking up the forms due to reasons she never knew of. This she further stated that was a blessing in disguise as it paved a way for to pursue her music dream as her parents were not ready to support her education by then.

I really did well with the WASSCE. I completed Ghana Senior High School in Koforidua with flying colours and my dream was to do law afterwards. However, my parents advised that it will be difficult to get employment after doing so thay asked to try the military. I picked my forms and went but was bounced due to reasons I do not – she told Zionfelix

She further stated; It was a blessing in disguise for me as it opened the doors for me to pursue music as my family was not really ready to fund my education by then.

OV is currently out with her maiden single under Burniton Music Group titled ‘Want me’ featuring Stonebwoy.
