Director of Communications for 3 Music Awards, Sadiq Abdulai Abu has claimed that fan base of Samini and his entourage, High Grade Family have not been dominant over the past year. Hence their exclusion from the Fan Army of the Year nominees list for this year’s 3 Music Awards.
The nominees for the 2nd edition of the awards was announced last week with some new categories and nominees. However, one of the biggest categories that always gets everyone talking is the Fan Army of the Year. It was won last year by Shatta Wale’s Shatta Movement ahead of Sark Nation, BHIM Nation and others. Shatta Movement will however be seeking to reclaim the top notch award for the 2nd year running at this year’s event that will be held on March 30, 2019 at the Fantasy Dome.
But one notable exclusion from this year’s nominees was Samini High Grade Family which many believe have been loud over the past year. However, Sadiq speaking on the Brunch to Lunch with Zionfelix on Radio Univers reiterated that the nominees in this year’s category including Maccassio’s 69 Fans, Fancy Gadam’s Gadam Nation, Sark Nation, BHIM Nation, Manifans, Pa2Pa Soldiers of Patapaa, AMG Beyond Control of Medikal, Kofi Kinaata’s Team Move and Wendy Shay’s Shay Fans were more better than High Grade Family.
Do you also believe that High Grade Family have not been doing their utmost best to deserve a nomination in that category?
