Boss of Sarkcess Music, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie has confessed that his first choice artiste for hit song Glory was Joe Mettle.
The father of one revealed this in a very interrogative interview with Andy Dosty and Kwesi Ernest on Hitz FM Wednesday morning. However this was a response to a question asked by Franky 5, a pundit on the show about how he plans to help the gospel acts in the country gain international recognition.
The hip hop sensation who has over 77 awards to his credit mentioned that even though its been long since he collaborated with any gospel act since his last feature on Herty Borngreat’s song some years back, he planned on putting the 2017 Artiste of the Year on that record but unfortunately things did not work out well. He however stated that Yung L, surprisingly bumped into the studio, heard the song and recorded the hook and the chorus.
“This may come as a surprise but I wanted to put Joe Mettle on the Glory song. I don’t know what happened but it couldn’t come on and Yung L came to the studio, heard the song and recorded his part”
But he stated that he plans on doing collaborations with gospel artistes. He even mentioned that he had a song with Obaapa Christy but he feels it’s too old and a new one needs to be done.
This year’s Rapperholic Concert comes off on December 25, 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre and starts at 7pm prompt.
