Liwin Is Wrong For Arresting Female Blogger – ATWAG President

President of the Arts and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana, ATWAG, Mr. Williams Asiedu has waded into the conversation surrounding Kumawood actor, Liwin and one female blogger the former calling for the arrest of the latter.

Kwadwo Nkansah Liwin called for the arrest of the said female blogger after she published a news indicating that the ‘Mama Boss Papa’ hit maker had knocked down a young man in front of Peace FM in Accra with his customized car. This news did not go down well with Liwin who ordered the blogger to pull down the story of which she refused.

He therefore reported the issue to the Tesano Police Station who then went ahead to arrest the lady. This issue has since become the talk of town as many believe Kwadwo Nkansah went overboard to call for the arrest of the lady while he could have used other legal means.

Commenting on the issue on the ‘Brunch 2 Lunch’ show on Radio Univers 105.7fm with Zionfelix, Mr. Williams Asiedu who is the President of the Arts and Tourism Writers Association of Ghana stated that the law should have worked properly as he believes the Police nor Liwin had no right in arresting the lady.

According to him, the actor cum musician could have filed for a lawsuit and called for appropriate actions to be taken by the law court.

“Liwin feels the lady has defamed him so he thinks the police should arrest her but that’s where I think the law should have worked. It is wrong because what are the charges against her? Maybe the clearest charge will be she defaming him but it’s not a criminal offense” – He said.

He further advised journalists and bloggers to refrain from publishing fake and false stories to avoid such situations.
